A full mixed bag yesterday around the place! A couple of winners at Doomben but a couple below par. A winner at the coast but clearly should have been another at a big price. Not sure if it was a pass mark or not to be honest.
Not that keen on the card at the SC but betting in one race.
Race 5:
Initially I wanted to be all over ADONISEA e/w at the $10 when prices went up. A nice horse with good upside. First two career runs were both well above average on his home track. Then got too far back in a hot race before he went for a break. (Eloquently and Miami Fleiss ran the quinella there and as we know ran the quinella in the Listed race yesterday). Recent trial was good and top jock on board. When you look at their form SHEJAEA has to be the danger. Won a couple on the trot this track/trip before bumping into Birriecart twice in a row. That horse is far better than average is this looks a really suitable race.
At the prices I could just split my win bet now:
#6 SHAJAEA $4 and #7 ADONISEA $7

Race 8 #5 ROMAN AUREUS $9/$2.60
The gate was a real concern but scratching’s have helped. I still don’t like the gate but it’s more chance of working out now. Not fully clear in a hot race last start and this is extremely suitable 2nd up. No luck last prep and then they went to unsuitable trips. Think a few punters might have forgotten how handy he is. Close to double figures means I have to have a small play.
