The Stradbroke thoughts

Here’s the early look at the STRADDY and likely RDC form guide. This is what you get race by race for my previews for RACING.COM

Just a fair edition of the Stradbroke this year. Vilana was the winner of the lead up race last week but there is a jinx on the winner of that race going into this. Can he be the one to break the jinx? That win was breath-taking last week. Great turn of foot and the gelding operation may have been the game changer. I feel Nugget is the big value. He’s run really well in two Doncaster’s and in a G1 WFA race. In here with 53kg and off a 4 week freshen for the 1400m is ideal. In the right stable and they just want to be aggressive enough early to land midfield. $21+ looks a decent price. Antino has been timed to the minute by Gollan and this has been the goal for a long time. Recent runs have been ok but not suited by the shifty tracks. Back on better ground and he can jump out of his skin here. Wide gate is the little concern. Bella Nipotina is a star, just has a bit against at 1400m from the wide gate with top weight. Still a chance with any luck. You need to be a good filly to win but respecting Roll On High and Stefi Magnetica in this field. Very open race this year.
