Some may have listened to myself and Chris Nelson on the Qld Betfair Edge on Saturday. I said when it come to the Kingsford-Smith it was hard to have any confidence in a bet when the favs had been said to be lame leading into the race.

It ends up they were passed fit to run, all three (SAVATOXL + SAVATIANO + GYTRASH) Here is the STEWARDS REPORT on each horse.

SAVATOXL – Momentarily inconvenienced near the 300 metres when JONKER rolled out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be short striding slightly in the near foreleg.

SAVATIANO – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the near foreleg. Connections were advised the mare would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.

GYTRASH – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. Checked at 300 metres when SAVATOXL shifted out. B Vorster, rider of SAVATOXL, pleaded guilty to charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting out near the 300 metres resulting in GYTRASH having to be checked. The licence of B Vorster to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 29th May up to and including midnight 8th June 2021. Steadied when racing in restricted room over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the near foreleg. Connections were advised the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.
