Thumps aplenty

A lot of good horses had excuses and worth noting all these below.

GRAFTERBURNERS– When asked to comment on todays performance, Jockey Z. Purton reported that GRAFTERBURNERS was worked up prerace. He added that his mount commenced to weaken for the 600m and was disappointing in its finishing efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery and clinical signs of the thumps. Trainer K Schweida reported that he would report back on the condition of the colt in the subsequent days.

NEPO BABY– A post-race veterinary examination revealed cardiac arrhythmia. Co-trainer A. Archibald was advised that NEPO BABY will require a veterinary clearance inclusive of ECG and a 1000m gallop prior to racing again.

COTE ATLANTIQUE- . A post-race veterinary examination revealed clinical signs of the thumps.

HIDDEN ACHIEVEMENT– When asked to comment on performance, Jockey J. McDonald reported that HIDDEN ACHIEVEMENT raced flat throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be lame on its off foreleg. Trainer C. Waller was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to racing again.

COSMO CENTAURUS- Jockey Z. Purton reported that COSMO CENTAURUS failed to travel at any stage and when placed under pressure from 600m, commenced to weaken. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery and mild thumps.
