Like the last two tournaments we have said that they will be won on the last three holes and that is how it’s played out. The ‘Snake Pit’ will sort them out here too.
Real ball strikers course here and you need an all-round game to win. Some really well placed water hazards that come into play and pretty easy to ruin a good round quicly.
Prices are not great but I think that is simply because there are very few players who are in good form and/or have a good record at the tournament.
*Betfair prices at time of typing. (In order of confidence)
JACOB BRIDGEMAN- $24 – My goodness he is in form and should have been right in the finish at The Players. Has made the cut in his last 5 tournaments and his worst finish has been 18th. Has a win and 3x Top 10’s in there too. Ranked 1st in Shot Gained total for the whole tour this year! And 1st in putting.
BROOKS KOEPKA- $30 – Has been hopeless, legless with the putter for a long time. Has changed to the Mallet last week and improved. His ball striking is world class and has just kept improving each round back on the PGA. He is ranked 3rd in SG Approach To The Green this season. If the putter works, he can win.
VIKTOR HOVLAND $23– Feel his game is tracking and he won here last year. Feel the price is short enough though. Has finished T13th at the Arnold Palmer and The Players, two huge tournaments recently. The issue is he is ranked 134th Shots Gained off the tee this year. Needs to fix that to be a factor, but I feel he can.
AKSHAY BHATIA $22– About the closest thing to Bridgeman at the moment. Forlines are immaculate T3 – T6 – T16 – 1st – T13. Form on the course isn’t as good but he is a different golfer now. 5th in Shots Gained total, 9th SG Approach to the green and 10th in Putting.
You can’t have them all but I’ve had just enough on these to cover the other bets.
XANDER SCHAUFFELE $13
JUSTIN THOMAS $25
COREY CONNERS $42
