Bit of a wrap up

Just a quick wrap up of the last day of the Spring carnival and of the locals at brassy.

Not a bad day for the punt followers on a tough day with a heap of rain early in the day. MARCULOO was a terrific effort but was just set a very hard task to come from last, and we got the trifecta in the last. ‘The Prophet’ was again around the money but ended up with a couple of placing’s, including Marculoo.

*Sandown raced very fair and it looked a great day down there. TANBY took the classic out and it was a very good win. He relaxes well and is a true stayer, however is a couple of lengths of the top line. EXCEPTIONALLY was tough again and did get cut out in the straight by the winner but with no protest from connections.

Earlier in the day MEIDUNG looked awesome winning in easy fashion. She was flogged by SHAMAL WIND and that horse may well be one right out of the box! I felt this was about the win of the day!

Dom Tourneur again rode ÉCLAIR SURPRISE a treat and that horse will spell now and be set for the Singapore Cup. I hope they take Dom with them!

*In Brisbane it was great to see ROTHERA return to the winners circle. He is a different horse on wet ground and it ended up a space job as he ran riot!

POST RESTANTE was the highlight coming from last and winning well on what was thought to be unsuitable ground. She has held her form from the winter and Desleigh Forster deserves a lot of accolades for having the best strike rate in Australia! I think it is 13 from her last 19 starters.. WOW

**In Perth the tail of sorrow continued with ANTIQUE BELLE being a moral beaten. She will win next start it is just a matter of being forgiven as W.Pike zigged when he should have zagged in the straight.

***There will be plenty of blackbookers to follow so be sure to jump on through the week!
