Blackbook

BARASSI– Big drifter in the market and was a bit soft late in the race too. That says he may have needed the run but I also hate when a horse on the outside leads by 3/4L in the run and working the whole time. Can improve off that run and keen to see what the market does next time he goes around.

RED WAVE– More of a forgive than a blackbook. Ridden up on speed and better ridden more quietly. Also wrong part of the track and the 100m past the post was strong. Probably better on firm ground too.

TOJAKI– This was a mare who raced forward last prep and went through the grades beautifully. This time in work she been settling back and just taking a while to go through her gears. Same again Saturday but ran right away. To my eyes, she looks like an 1800m+ horse and if that’s the case she is just going to get better and better this prep. Big tracks are suitable.
