Bougoure on fire in Melbourne

It’s fair to say the interstate horse were very good over the Melbourne carnival and all the QLD trainers did the state proud.

Very hard to go past Heathcote and Gollan winning Group 1 and 2 races but Dan Bougoure’s effort to win a Group 3 and then the final race of the carnival was outstanding!Bougoure

Dan took Oakleigh Girl down, had a trial in Melbourne and set her for the first up tilt. “Once we got her up and running we knew she was above average and we thought oh well, we will go to the two year old Group 3 for fillies. Not a bad way to start.” Dan said.

Also worth noting she has had the week off, will fly home tonight or tomorrow, have another week or so off and be targeted at the Magic Millions.

The other winner for the astute Brisbane trainer was Longport. She was first up and finished midfield in a great effort the week before and them won easy on the last day of the carnival giving weight to the males in a dominant effort. “Her run Derby day was fantastic, her last 400m sectional was outstanding so we decided to back her up and run on Emirates day with the view to going to Perth for the Railway stakes. She should get in with a light weight and the mile will suit” Bougoure said.Falvelon

Longport was an exceptional 3 year old but it looks as though Dan and his team have got her right up to the mark again and the W.A target looks a perfect race for her. He is a very nice bloke, a great horseman and I’m sure the whole state wish him the best over the coming couple of years with a very good stable of youngsters he has been building lately.
