Lose It gone, but Herne upbeat about team

One of the good young brissy trainers I enjoy chatting to is Brad Herne and he unearthed a potential star in June/July when he brought Lose It through the grades and finished off with a dominant Grafton Guineas win.

Unfortunately the news I bring today is that the horse has been sold to Hong Kong and we won’t have the pleasure of seeing him progress to the next level as most expected. Brad was fine with the decision and it is a big part of racing these days. In saying that he had done a wonderful job and it could well have been the horse he was looking at to springboard him into potential owner’s minds. It says a lot about the bloke as he is just happy for the owners and he goes about his work looking for the next good horse.

Another horse we have seen plenty of is Rock home Late. He was very consistent last prep and Brad reported we should see him in around a month or so. He is pleased with the horse and is looking for another successful preparation.

The young horse coming through the stable that has Brad upbeat is Allknight Saint who ran 3rd to Heza Jetsetter last start and looks a genuine Saturday horse. Herne felt the horse will be better next time in work but likes what he sees at the moment.

It’s a shame about Lose It but I’m sure it won’t take him long to find his next star!
