It was a great ride from Brenton Avdulla. He slotted Bronzed Venom in midfield on the rail from barrier 7 and kept steadily improving his position. He was between horses with nowhere to go but pulled out into clear galloping room and finished over the top of the stablemate.

Kirona ($3.20 fav) looked to be going straight past Lord Lumberjack in the straight but he rallied and Kirona lost in a close head bobbing go. Embecee Lil let the stablemate (Street Embrace) get away with murder in front. She travelled widely around the turn, motored home in the last 200m (made up 5L) and only got beaten a long neck. One to be on next time.

Jamie Kah gave all her rides every conceivable chance but I particularly liked her ride on Dollar For Dollar. From barrier 9 she showed great initiative to go forward and the speed maps didn’t have her parked outside the leader. The horse got a gun run from there and won convincingly.
